hooking laptop up to CRT monitor

So, I think I am going to buy a laptop, and just give my tower to my friend. But, I still want to keep my 19' monitor. How easy is it to hook the laptop up to my 19" monitor? Is there anything I should look for in the laptop that I buy to make sure that I can do this without having to install anything (i.e. my monitor uses pins to hook up to the comp (duh!)...do i need to buy anything extra with my laptop?)? Thanks in advance for any help with this.

I haven't heard of a laptop that doesn't come with an external monitor port. You shouldn't need anything extra
