My first million.. qualified on my first try in a STT /images/graemlins/grin.gif

Made it to the final three tables of a $55 last night and lost a huge pot w/ QQ vs. TT.. hopefully my bad luck is out of the way.

My first million also!

Qualified through my first single table sit and go. I cleared the bonus and decided to give it a shot. My roomates thought I was insane. Ended up winning it in less than 35 min.

Goodluck all!

We've played about an orbit, I haven't played any hands yet. I get QQ UTG and raise to 70. UTG+1, who also has yet to play a hand, makes it 290 to go.

I fold without giving it too much thought. How weak is that?

Not really weak, he has to respect your UTG raise, your looking at AA/KK a lot here. And your not getting good odds to crack them.

Could just as easily be 99-JJ, AK, AQ, AJ even.

I suck royal balls.

Had AKo, monotone club flop w/ A of clubs, gutshot, get raised by some guy who pushed against a shortstack on a complete bluff, turn made me a straight..

anyways, he had 76s for a flush, and I didn't hit my redraw.

Pretty dissapointing to not even finish in the top 2000.

Up to 2200 early, and I get JJ utg. Blinds are still 10/20 so I just limp. 4 see the flop of Td 5c 4c. UTG bets 90 into the 80 pot, and I raise to 225. He comes back over the top all-in for 1400. I went in to the tank and folded. I really think I was ahead, but would hate to decimate my stack so early.

How about this one for wuss. I raise from MP with AK, two callers. Flop comes A104 rainbow. I bet 100 into the 180 pot and get one caller, the SB. Turn is a 5, second diamond. Caller immediately moves all-in and I fold.

I think all the hands you listed are not that likely. AK maybe, but more people call this early with it. I dont see someone reraiseing in utg+1 this early with 99-JJ either.
Specially since utg raised, they have to have some respect.

03-05-2005, 06:11 PM
I saw that happen and it was weird to watch. I mean, the play made basically no sense as far as I could tell, but I can't imagine he did it with less than 2 pair...though if he had two pair, why didn't he let you bet at it first cus AK seemed like it had to be your holding. I dunno, I wasn't really sure what range to put him on.

I think he had AT, but I wasn't willing to bet my tournament on it. It might have been Ac Tc too where he'd be a favorite, and he took so long pre-flop that I wondered if he had QQ.

OK, I see three viable options to folding. Which do you suggest?

This guy is an unknown, except for the one orbit of folding thus far. (Clearly not much to go on.)

1) Reraise all in.

2) Min-reraise to 510 and fold to an all in. If he just calls, then push a non A or K flop.

3) Call, and gauge his flop action.

I think I like #3 the most of these, but the problem is that if his reraising range is in fact as wide as you suggest, it is highly possible that I get pushed off the best hand if he puts in a pot committing flop bet.

MLG
03-05-2005, 06:15 PM
here's another one. UTG limper, I raise from MP with QQ, SB calls limper uses all his time then minraises, me and the limper both call. Flop is rags and he pushes for 2x the pot. I fold.

Of course then the poker gods rewarded me by giving me KK against QQ. I feel better now.

Out in 629th. No cards whatsoever this tourney, I mean I got 99 twice and those were far and away the best I saw. I made all the moves I could, isolating weak limpers etc. I actually got QQ in the big blind once but it was folded around to me!!! Just terrible. I just couldn't put much together. Finally pushed with AQs and got called by KK. That was the end of me. Realistically though, this type of tourney is massively +EV. Play a hundred of these and if you're halfway decent you'll have some good dough to show for it.

crazy 1st 5 minutes of this hour. loosie who's chips I had been eyeing for 2 hours limped and I raised him with KQ, he pushed his last 1200 in and I called . He had 33 and I made a pair. THen a previous huge stack on tilt after losing almost all his chips pushed his last 1K from the button. I pushed all in with QQ hoping to shut out the BB but he called (big stack) and I thought i was dead. Button had A9 and BB had TT and my hand held up giving me over 9K. BLinded down to where I am now.

pretty lucky actually. Had a staller who wasn't playing anything, so I raised his BB every time and maintained, then picked up JJ when he finally pushed his last 1300. BB came along though with AK and I dodged a bullet. 7 to go to the money, and I hope I don't have to play a hand before then. I raised QQ and prayed for no callers already.
