Hi Folks

I noticed a thread about the paradox of proper play, and it prompted me to want to post my thoughts on what I see as angoing paradox between theory and practice in LHE.

1. Many authorities argue that reads, concentration, strong analysis of your opponents tendencies (even online) are keys as you move up in limits. That's one school of thought.

2. Then there is the other school that says give me pokertracker and let me loose to multi-table 6 games at 15/30 and I'll have all the info I need for success.

Not withstanding the valuable information from software, these still seem like competing approaches for success.

Does anyone wnat to weigh in on the "volume" of play versus the "quality" of play arguement. More specfically, I appreciate the benefits of multi-tabling lower limits, but at what point when moving up in limits do you reach a point where "volume" and "quality" butt heads, and a firm decision needs to made by a player on which route to go with?

Thanks in advance for any discussion on this.

There is an essay in this month's online magazine that discusses a somewhat similar concept to what you are talking about, check it out.
