Party Step 2s

So I've been playing STTs at Party, mostly 10+1s, but I've been trying the steps. I can pretty much beat any Step 1 game, but I've been having trouble with the Step 2s. What are people's thoughts on these games? I think that I've been playing too tight by wrongly assuming that the Step 2s have better players than the Step 1s. Is this an awful assumption? I only ask because I just pushed a flop in a Step 2 with A high, got called by K high and took it down.

Anyway, there is a ton of FE in STEP 2s. Use it, abuse it. My STEP 2 experiences have been like a tight $55 SNG. Which contrasts significantly with the maniacal play for just the 2 spots in STEP 1. Frankly, I'm thinking it's wiser to straight buy into STEP 2, and skip STEP 1.

Out of all my STEP 1s, I think I have like an 80% Top 4 finishes, but I'm placing in 1:5.5 attempts.
