Please advise me on this hand. I am lost as to how I am supposed to play this on the turn/river.

I believe that folding the turn is the best option. While he may have nothing, usually a flop check after a pre flop raise means a monster.

I'm not interested in the pre flop call.

Party Poker 5/10 Hold'em (6 handed)

Preflop: Jeff is BB with 3d, Qd.
4 folds, SB raises, Jeff calls.

Flop: (4 SB) Kh, 8s, As (2 players)
SB checks, Jeff checks.

Turn: (2 BB) Qs (2 players)
SB bets, Jeff calls.

River: (4 BB) 8d (2 players)
SB bets, Jeff calls.

I think usually call this down and hate it. Without a read its a difficult fold as sometimes passive players do this with middle pairs. I would not bet this turn if checked to.

Seems like a fold to me on the turn.

you certainly shouldnt feel obligated to call this down. you have 3rd pair no kicker after a preflop raiser with AKQ on the board. if the player is reasonable at all then youre behind. i think if the player was raising it in with a weak hand like J high, he would have stabbed at the flop and not of waited until the turn to do it.

Preflop raises followed by checks in heads up pots are absolutely nasty and you should proceed accordingly.

Only bad players do this, and they always hit the board hard. The few players who are so bad as to check JJ here will often not bet the turn either.
