what was your specific reasoning behind 3-betting the flop? i dont think your ahead of much here.

I dont think MP1 is bluffing on the flop, unless you have a different read on him I say you call his raise and fold to a bet on the turn if unimproved. Flop board is so scary and he has to put you on a strong hand I dont think he is fooling around.

If you have a different read on him then I think you could put him on a bluff and call it down.

why 3-bet this flop? a strong caase could be made for checking this flop.

looks like you scared the crap out of an A on the flop. I'm not really sure what the correct play is here, but I'll have a go:

once we are c/r'ed on the flop, it will cost us 2.5BB to call down (MP1 will usually continue to bet).

If we take your line here, and are ready to fold to any further aggression, we put in 2BB (maybe just 1.5 and fold).

Our other option is to just fold. Are we good the 1/4, 1/5 times here to play this? I'm struggling with this one.

At the time I think I would have taken the most expensive line, but now I'm leaning towards folding, with your line in 2nd place, the other in 3rd.

EDIT: check flop, call/bet turn, call/bet river?? I kind of like that.

depending on my read, the fact that this is HU makes me much more willing to pop it one more time on the flop. that's a scary board that many players oop would c/r as a bluff, no?

I thought I put my read in on him before submitting, but I guess not. MP1 was LAGgy (51% vpip/21% pfr) over 43 hands. I didn't give him credit for having an A or 9, so I 3-bet to determine how much he liked his hand.

Looking back, after my line on the flop, I should have checked the turn and river, and folded to a bet on either.

against such a laggy opponent, i'd be tempted to just call down.
