Anyone know what limit they are spreading tonight?

Kevmath

You're 4 hours early, but tonight is supposed to be the "high roller" 400/800 limit game.

Yeah its the big game, hopefully Jerry Buss is there tonight and we get more of Scotty Nguyen and Ted Forrest's 92o.

Probably wont see Ted Forrest. He's rumored to be among the BIG GAME crew at the Aladdin tonight. Several million in a mixed ring game will be on the table.

Kevmath

Probably won't see Toto Leonidas either, he's still in the PPT event at Bay 101.

I missed the first attempt at a mixed game, but Bart and Shirley were saying how difficult it was for the producers to keep up with some of the games.

Omaha with 4 hold cards, stud with multiple cards per street, and draw games? Man, I feel for someone trying to enter those cards into the computer.

Rick, do you know which games are in the mixed game? I assume Omaha, Hold 'Em, Stud, and a lowball variant.

btw, Yosh Nakano will be in the field of 64. suprising to me because i never heard of him until i started watching live at the bike.

Kevmath

The last time they did a high limit mix game, it was holdem, omaha hi/lo, badugi, and triple draw lowball.

I was at the Bike yesterday, Feb 2nd, when the table was asked if anyone wanted to play in the "internet game". Nobody at the table, myself included, knew what the "internet game" was. Once it was explained what was going on, an Asian lady, who is a Bike regular, said "You mean people stay home and watch other people play poker on the internet? Don't they have a life?"

The entire table declined the invitation to play.

The "don't have a life" thing is always one of the more idiotic insults numbskulls come up with. Many of us (myself included) work all kinds of crazy hours on ... wait for it ... wait for it ... our computers. And, like they said last night on the show, keep the audio on and flip over to it when something saucy is happening.

Four minutes and counting....

The only good thing about moving to the East Coast, TV wise: I used to watch TV in bed before going to sleep, now I watch Live at the Bike. Ahhh, the soothing tones of Denny and Bart.

I prefer to live my life while the sun is up and things can actually be accomplished, not being a degenerate and playing 8/16 on a Wednesday afternoon.

Big game players finally decided it wasn't such a good idea to show all their hands live on the internet.

Kevmath

The 400/800 game would be interesting because you would see players play hands just as bad or worse than they did in the 8/16 game last night.

C'mon, I try never to insult anyone directly -- no, I was talking in general about people who use the whole "get a life" thing. (Well, Shatner can get away with it -- but that's it.) It's especially annoying in this situation where many of you make a living playing poker online and I need to log tons of hours in front of the computer for my job as well. Even if you didn't have an "excuse" -- it's as entertaining (sometimes, more so) than the slick produced garbage we get sometimes on TV.

You got to respect the way they're raw-doggin' it.

Just for the record, my post was in response to why you shouldn't bet in NL. I haven't read SSII, but one reason not to bet on the button in an agressive game is that it lets someone with say a set come back all in, which means you need to call with just a flush draw. OTOH, in limit its fine to bet in because a re-raise just builds your flush.

On Tuesday my "not so reliable source" told me that we would be putting down the 20/40 limit holdem on Wednesday's "Live at Bike". Instead, we had an 8/16 limit holdem game - which looked like a better show if yesterday's Live at Bike thread is any indication.

Anyway, I'm looking for a new source /images/graemlins/grin.gif

Rick, do you know which games are in the mixed game? I assume Omaha, Hold 'Em, Stud, and a lowball variant.

[/ QUOTE ]

Usually the games are selected among holdem, Omaha/8, stud/8, bedugi (sp?), triple draw and sometimes stud or razz. In the end it usually depends on what the players want.

Yesterday was March 2nd /images/graemlins/grin.gif

Anyway, I don't think it's usually a good idea to try to move an existing game to the "Live at Bike" table as demonstrated above. That's why on Saturday's when I put down the 200 NL "Live at Bike" game I try to do it from a separate board, and inform all the potential players in the area who might be interested.

Note that this Saturday *may* feature a different game than the 200 NL. When I get confirmation from a "reliable source", I'll try to let you guys know /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Tonight's show is the $200 NL game, so far Rick is 0-2 on announcing what games are scheduled to air. Boo to you! /images/graemlins/grin.gif

I wish I could tell you what I experienced Tuesday finding out what was supposed to go down on Wednesday - it was comical in a "company private" sort of way /images/graemlins/smirk.gif.

Getting the regular 400/800 game to move to the "Live at Bike" table is often touch and go as you can imagine. That said, I really don't think you guys want to see games where the hole card cams can't be employed to full advantage.

And the commentary is usually a lot better, especially if Bart or Shirley are in it. Though this other guy with Bart tonight's pretty good as well.

That was David Tuchman, a yellow chip (20/40) level prop at the Bike.

One time David was disturbed regarding the way I played and sucked out on him in a 20/40 stud/8 game. When he asked what I was thinking, I told him "Hey, I'm on tilt /images/graemlins/smile.gif"

Whoever the "mystery commentator" is, he's the best one I've heard on here yet (aside from Raymer of course).

I mentioned it elsewhere (it's easier to repost then to find it among over a hundred replies in the thread) but it is David Tuchman, a 20/40 prop at the Bike.

Now the game's really loosening up with Mo in there.

[/ QUOTE ]

If it was the Mo in seat eight around 7:30 pm then it was Mo Fathipour, our $500 NL host.

All we need is some nice cleavage and someone to cuss at the other players.

[/ QUOTE ]

Unfortunately Hero's cleavage can't make it this Saturday, but might be able to return the following week /images/graemlins/grin.gif

She almost never cusses though /images/graemlins/smile.gif

What the hell is that noise in the background? Is someone singing or yelling or something. Am I the only one hearing that?

We had a $120 buy in "Winnin 'O the Green" (http://www.thebike.com/tournaments/schedule/?tournament_id=16) tournament tonight. The 25K guarantee was sort of funny, since a couple of hours before it started I was willing to bet a few bucks that we would get over 600 entrants. The final count was well north of 700.

Anyway, the place was chaotic and we got down twenty no limit games by about 10:00 pm. I spent much of the night as a *relatively* high paid chip runner /images/graemlins/grin.gif

"and you can see we have a lot of good looking people here at the casino..."

LOL ... I love how they've nicknamed one guy "FATBOY"

[/ QUOTE ]

"Fatboy" insists we call him "Fatboy". He's actually a muscular and only slightly chubby, likable Asian guy with lots of heart and gamble. My guess is he could beat about 90% of guys his age in a sprint and about 99% in a bench press.

I haven't watched most of the Live at the Bike telecasts but Fatboy seems like a pretty good player. He's tough to play against.

Fatboy is the guy in the 2 seat, and he gave himself that nickname.

I'm in "flat mode" now listening to tunes after a hard day and answering questions as I find them where appropriate. Now I noticed you probably answered the same question already regarding Fatboy (and I'm too tired/lazy to find exactly where this is in threaded mode).

Wouldn't it be great if we had a flat mode that preserved the indentured presentation of the thread and allowed us to easily insert posts where they should be? I guess the downside might be that it would make posting so easy threads like this might go 600 replies deep /images/graemlins/smirk.gif

He's a fun guy and seems to do well overall.

Anyway, I've just about worn myself out tonight posting and am looking forward to doing my four nights per week bedtime reading. I'm mid way through the Tom Wolfe "I am Charlotte Simmons" book. I'll have a lot of questions for the "college kids of today" that post here when I'm done, but one thing I'm sure of is your generation didn't invent "sexiled" /images/graemlins/grin.gif

~ Rick

PS Not sure the Saturday night "Live at Bike" game will be $200 NL. Hero can't play anyway and the place will be a zoo with the $50 NL tournament that has some sort of college tie in.
