FWIW, I know pretty much nothing about PLHE. This opponent and I have a history of bickering from 15/30, basically he has told me I suck, that I call down too much, and that he will bust me some day. This was all about 3 days ago. He even went through a period where he reraised me every time I raised for 3 orbits. What do you think of my play in this h and, and how wuold you play the river?

Also, since I am primarily a limit player, I'd like to hear thoughts on the turn as well.

I would check the flop and go from there. As it played out, I'd probably bet $150 on the river.

river is perfect, you can showdown and you hate getting raised. betting scare cards is tricky business, it really depends on the hands he can have here. if he is solid, EP limps are usually pocket pairs although he could have a wider range. you have to give the guy a little credit after the turn call, but it really depends on how solid this guy is and how much he hates you /images/graemlins/smile.gif.

I like it a lot - the check on the river invites a bluff from a missed club draw/overpair.

The only thing I might have done different is bet 2/3 to 3/4 of the pot instead of full pot on each street as I'm not excited about building a big pot with this hand (but I am also weak-tight).

You need to put a blocker bet on the river.

I'm not that familiar with Pot Limit or No Limit, but in Pot Limit, won't betting out the river actually give him an opportunity to bluff for even more than he would be otherwise? FWIW, I was basically trying to induce a bluff on the river here, as I put him on something like JTc or JTh, or possibly 89 which wouldn't likely call a bet. The ace looks like a scary card, and while he'd be unlikely to come over the top with a missed draw he might take a stab at it if I show weakness.

against an aggressive player who doesn't respect your play at all and will go over the top on you, checking ensures that this river cannot go any more than $316 (unless you want it too). if you think he will value bet or bluff a wide variety of hands here i like the river check, though i dont' mind putting in a blocking bet of about 1/2 the pot or so against more straight foward players.

I called and he had KQc. He made fun of me for calling and said if any card besides an offsuit ace fell I would've folded. I guess people do bluff in this game, Paluka.

I really like the river check - you're inducing the bluff right? It looks a ton like a missed club draw from him. If this is really what it is, his play is absolutely transparent (and therefore horrible /images/graemlins/smile.gif).
