Awesome, was just on the Dell website two days and complaining how I could only get a crappy 15.4" WUXGA monitor. Thanks.

So is this the preferred laptop for multi tabling? What options/components would be the best to select?

That makes 2 of us! As an added bonus, we paid a lot more for less!

WUXGA is 1900x1200...right?

Cheapest model looks to be $1359 with the rebates.

Golly.

i just paid the same for less. mine is a 1.8, 1GB, 60GB/7200RPM, ati 9700 + wuxga, intel b/g wireless. i could basically get the same thing (1.73, ati x300 + wuxga) with a couple light perks for about the same price.

WUXGA is 1920x1200. The biggie is the 17" screen vs 15.4" on the 6000/8600.

Definitely.

I got an Inspiron 5100 Jan, 2004 at 1400x1050 res and now it feels horribly out-dated.

If i stumble on a $50k win in a tourney sometime I will probably treat myself to one of those 1900x1200 bad-boys.

Otherwise I just can't justify spending $1400 or so on a new computer (no matter how much I want one of those things) when my current one works fine and is barely more than a year old.

Okay, here's my question.

I just ordered a basic 6000 with WUXGA and some decent upgrades. It was priced at 909 and I ended up paying 990 for it with tax, etc. Shold I cancel that order and order one of these 9300s?

Hmmm, interesting.

Yep, just got it 1/29. Mine is a 1.6, 512M, 60GB/7200RPM, ati 9700 + wuxga, dell b/g wireless, dvd burner. Much better deal now plus, apparently, the display is of higher quality. I don't know if that's really true, though, since I haven't seen it.

how is the display supposed to be better?

I've read that it's not as "sparkly". In terms of quality, the 9200's display is definitely a small step down from my ThinkPad, Sony, and iBook displays. Right now that's the only complaint I have about my 9200 (and it's a small complaint) so it's not really a big deal to me.
