I've seen this term tossed about here quite a bit... people going pro, "should I go pro?", "internet pro".
What exactly qualifies someone to call themselves a professional poker player? Does it happen after you play a certain number of hands (like forum titles)? Does it happen when you play often enough at a certain limit? Does it happen when you make your sole source of income from poker?
I feel the term is ambiguous, at best.

A poker pro is someone who makes a living playing poker. A poker pro doesn't necessarily have to be a great or very experienced player. There's a big difference between the term "poker pro" and "poker expert."

This is the point that I started considering myself a poker pro. I actually won more playing part time the year before I quit my job than the first year that I actually played for a living. I still feel that I was parttime when I was still getting a paycheck.

this basically sums up how a pro operates.
