Um...

I'm not sure what to think.

I guess this is just the trailer... so they had to put in all the one-liners and such.

I hope they've kept the spirit of the novel...

Thoughts?

Cant watch the trailer as on dial up will look tomorrow at work, I just hope they havent americanized it with the cricket game being baseball etc etc.

Watched the War of the Worlds trailer the other day and was dissapointed they didnt have the music, and I really hope it doesnt go the line of a independance day type movie.

It had a British actor in the lead role.

anyways, now I know what Mos Def was doing besides making good music.

I notice on that site they seem to be making a new herbie film, I really really hate those films.

Have you seen the series the BBC did?

Hitchikers Series (http://www.playusa.com/playusa.asp?page=title&r=R1&title=101804)

I think at the time people thought it was quite good.

Agreed, but what I'm mostly worried about are the little things. (Also, I'm not sure that the cricket match happens until at least the second novel... though I could be wrong)

I think a lot of the little nuances are going to be hard to translate into film.... like some of the narrator parts and guide entries. Wonder how those will be treated.

Ford, you're turning into a penguin. Stop it.

Is that different than the old movie version?

I haven't seen either one (if they're different).

I have read all the books probably 10 times each.

Yes was a series on BBC. Other was a movie in 84.

Movie search (http://www.imdb.com/find?q=hitchhikers;tt=on;nm=on;mx=20)

The series does look to be well liked on there was based on the book but also a radio series that again is thought well of by those into the book.

May be worth checking out before the hollywood one comes along to dissapoint.

I have vauge recollections of the series but was only 8 when it was on so didnt pay much attention to it.
