I'm planning to open a paypal account in order to sell some stuff on ebay. Do I need to get a premier/business account, or is a personal (free) account fine? Thanks!

Get the premier if you want to accept credit cards. Otherwise personal is fine if you just want to accept E-checks. Check the PayPal FAQ for more information, though, and to make sure what I'm telling you is correct.

If you plan on receiving more than $600 in the lifetime of the account, get premier/verified.

Unless you're not getting that money from credit cards. I've received tens of thousands into my free paypal account (coordinating rent between roommates) and never paid any fees.

He's selling on eBay - of course he's going to be receiving credit card payments.
