as far as i know, there are no laws on the books regarding online gambling. congress has pretty much taken a wait-and-see approach.

In some places there are and some places there aren't. Like most legal issues, it depends on where you live. In Canada, for example, it's apparently legal. However, I live just two hours south of there in Seattle and:
