I played very solid up to this point where I got knocked out 81st and took $1400

However, I went crazy and made this horrid push. I see KTo and there hasn't been many flops lately. Every hand in the last few orbits has been one raise and everyone else folds. I was thinking I didn't want to raise with KT and see a flop and that there was a good chance I could steal. Looking back at the situation I had too many chips to push here and KTo is a hand I would usually put in the muck in this situation.

I guess I'm just venting but if you have any thoughts, please share.

Yeah, I don't like this push. I'd fold PF.

If I wanted steal, I'd raise 3xbb and lay it down if someone came over the top.

The bubble bursts and people start doing stuff that's very out of character (I know I'm guilty myself).

I was in similar situation at live MTT...tried to steal with K-10 in the cutoff...raised 3xbb but was called by SB and BB...I was lucky, I flopped two pair and took down a nice pot.

I think you raise 3x BB and if you're re-raised you lay it down, you still have about T30k so you're in decent shape.

to jock everybody else's comment, i'd fold as a default, but if i'd raise, make it 2.7x or so.

I'll pretend I wasnt the idiot playing the hand and comment on how he played it. KTo is an easy fold in EP or MP and is worth raising with in LP. Now if I could only execute in the clutch.

I think I should get Harrington's book and see if he says anything about this particular hand. I'm sure he doesn't go crazy with it /images/graemlins/smile.gif

I don't have the book here, but I can assure you Dan doesn't like it much, especially in MP.

im having the same problem right now, three straight 50 + 5 MTT games I have made it well into the money, but can't seem to crack the final table. I have read this message board and there is alot of good advice, the problem is actually following some of it after playing in the tourny for 5 or 6 hours lol

Yep... KTo goes under Dan's miscellaneous weak hands and the better of them (KTs, K9s and QTs) starts to play in 6th position. In MP1 it's a clear mucketi-muck... Dan suggests raising KTo on the Button only, and even then you need to be absolutely clear about your enemies in the blinds.
