I just need to whine some.
I am not a "real" poker player because, as someone wise said, to play well you need: skills, a bankroll, and balls. And while I DO have all 3, unfortunately they are all small.
But anyway, I was playing low stakes, no limit hold-em online yesterday for about 200 hands. I won 3 outright with legitimate hands. I stole a few blinds. Basically stayed about even. But I couldn't believe the run of bad cards I got. I was getting ready to just walk away and consider myself lucky because I was basically even - when I was dealt k,2o in the big blind. Had a free look at the flop - which came 2,2,k. Being first in, I made a decent sized bet (about 5x BB, next player (big stack) raised the remaining 3 players all in. Two of us called his raise. I was hoping he had A,K, and sort of worried he might have pocket kings. But these two yahoos showed idential j,4 hands. Wouldn't you know it? turn, river: 4,4. My twos full outdrawn by these two idiots. Or maybe I'm the idiot (which is generally a good bet).
Regardless...I just couldn't take this if it was big money.
All this to say "kudos" to all of you with the skills, bankroll, and balls to play for big money. You have my utmost admiration.
