X-posted from 1-table Tournaments board:

I searched for saabpo the bot on pokerprophecy.com. Here are the results:

Player
saabpo

Games played
70

Wins
23 (32.86%)

Losses
47 (67.14%)

Average value wagered
$20

Players with better winning percentage
71537

Players with worse winning percentage
146576

$20 Table:
23 wins / 47 losses

Wow! So saabpo is in the 33rd percentile for ITM finishes! He probably didn't come out ahead, because I think his strategy is especially bad for short-handed play, so his ITM finishes are likely skewed towards 3rd place. Still, that's pretty impressive for such a simple strategy. Plus, at least towards the end of his run, he was playing against a lot of 2+2ers, who are presumably better than average PP players.

So, if you're playing the $22 games, and you're not beating the crap out of them, you must suck.

Also, props to whoever put up www.saabpo.com (http://www.saabpo.com).

The data is hopelessly inaccurate at the moment and Party have said it is against the rules to use it.

(Pokertracker is allowed as long as you don't share the data, but Prophecy is sharing the data anyway)

If they ever sort the software out (and it's bad, I've played one $22 and come fourth yet I have a 100% top three record... my $33s since prophecy came out are incredibly high yet it has me at 33%) then it will possibly be a reasonable buy at $20.

I just read on their site:

[ QUOTE ]
We will send the best Player of 2005 to the 2006 World Series of Poker, all expenses (including entry fee) paid! The minimum number of games for this contest is 300.

[/ QUOTE ]

How on earth are they going to afford to send someone to the WSoP? I'll assume that's just a lie, therefore make this site completely untrustworthy.

Why shouldn't they keep lying?
They started off lying about their capabilities.
They only fessed up after being called on it multiple times.
They are unapologetic spammers.
I look forward to their crashing and burning.

I think the little 2+2 logo with 4 + 4 = 8 on the botton of the thing kinda gave it away

If you click on the link (Disclaimer) he has posted, you will see who created it. I suggest the guy post this as his sig (while interest is hot) - this is a cool way to steer free of polluting the site with self promotion (as you were doing before and stopped) - while still being able to "plug" your product. Heck, I would use you as my affiliate just for making me laugh that hard! Keep it up, this is great stuff.

Somebody has already complained about my use of a sig. I figure I'd rather not be a nuisance. Besides, viral marketing works better anyway /images/graemlins/wink.gif.

I'm glad you guys enjoyed it!

Absolutely hilarious. If you would have added testimonials from BrownThumb ("I may love P.O.T., but I put it down when I got Saabpo's ebook. It changed my preflop raising strategy 100%!") and supbro ("Bro, Saabpo may not have been all-county in 1995 bro, but his ebook changed my life bro. Anyone that messes with Saabpo messed with supbro--this means you Tedd Forrest bro! Supbro?", I might have died of a heart attack.

I'm glad you've brought this up -- I was gonna ask you guys to make up funny testimonials for "PPSS" once word got out.

Any takers?
