View Full Version : Casino Whoring question: Pushes

A quick question: Do hands that result in a push count toward the wagering requirements for on-line casinos? I ask because I've done a couple of autoplay casino bonuses, and I always have some hands left to play after programming autoplay to play the bonus amount * 35. It's usually in the 150 range, so I'm wondering if that is a result of hands that end in a push.

Anybody know? Casino T&C's are f-in' confusing, to say the least, and even so, I didn't see anything regarding pushes.

[Edited to add:] The correllary question to this is, should I program autoplay to play, say, 2% more hands than I calculate using B$*35? Or should I do the B$*35 and see how many I have left to complete the WR?

I assumed pushes counted...

Also, you should try to play the minimum # of hands. every extra hand you play costs you a small amount of -EV.

it counts

also every hand you play does cost you EV but not a hell of a lot. You could play 500 more hands and it wont cost you almost anything if the house odds are like .012 or some [censored]..

that's *technically* true, but even in perfect blackjack (which is like a 99.5% payout, or somthing similat), it's quite easy to slide 20-30 credits in those couple hundred extra hands you play. if you're playing in pounds, that's an easy $50 you could be costing yourself. of course, you could also profit an extra $50....

That's what I thought. I'm just curious as to why I've had to play more hands than I calculated to be able to cash out my bonus into my deposit account. For instance, I calculated on a bonus balance of $131 that I needed to play 131*35=4585 hands at $1 per hand (and probably less due to double-downs). But when I checked my bonus account, I still had an outstanding WR of, say, 150. So I'd go back and play 150 hands of $1 BJ, only to see that my WR is now 25. I finally got it to 0, but it was confusing as to why I had to play more hands than I calculated.

I agree that i want to play the least hands possible, unless I have to engage in some cover play to keep the sites happy.

My latest excursion into Autoplay casino whoring worked as expected. The exact number of hands, no more. Must have been a glitch.

This is pretty cool, especially if you can convince yourself to NOT LOOK at your progress (or lack thereof). I started with $131 in my bonus account, set autoplay for just over 4200 hands, and turned it loose. With about 2000 hands left to play I was down to $14!!! (Not down $14, DOWN TO $14!!!) I ended the session with $140 in my bonus account and twelve Rolaids in my stomach.

I think from now on, I'll let this run overnight... /images/graemlins/grin.gif

It's possible that you're just not waiting long enough for the WR to update. at most casinos, (CR, and Integrety groups, esp) the WR progress updates hourly, though my experience has been that it's slightly longer than that.

next time try waiting a day then checking again.

although, if your autoplaying euro BJ (and you should be) the HA is like .36% and an extra 500 or so hands will only cost like 2$. pretty cheap for a little peace of mind and a day less waiting for your money.

and as for pushes counting, unless it expressly says they don't i'd assume they do: usually, every dollar one puts on the table and bets counts.

I think a general rule of thumb is to add 10%, thus WR= 1.10*(#hands * bet size).

say you have a $1100 WR to complete. Putting on 1000 hands of $1 bets should suffice.

You could choose to only add 5% and then contact support to ask for your balance.

Update lag is all.

And set it to play 10% less hands than you were setting it to play.

this must have something to do with the bonus acct.

for example:
if i have a $100 bonus with a 10xWR ($1,000WR), then i set my autoplay at 930 hands (93% due to splits and doubles) and i have never been short.

so, if you are programming it for 100% of WR and still falling short, something is way wrong

pushes ABSOLUTELY count and in many ts&cs they actually use a push in the example. i had a bonus with a 40k WR last weekend. if pushes did not count, it would have probably taken 60K to complete. lot's of pushes in BJ and other EV neutral games.

Thanks, Granny. I'll give 93% a shot on my next casino. Looks like it may have been a case of me not letting the WR meter catch up with autoplay... /images/graemlins/crazy.gif

ahhh. yes, microgaming takes time to update.

fwiw, adde and homer (the REAL pros at this) suggest 91% methinks, but i play it safe.
