If you are aware enough to know that you're addicted, you're not addicted enough. GA is for quitters.

I am starting a new 12-step program, TOEHTWIAOA Anonymous.

It is called Terrified Of Ever Having To Work In An Office Again Anonymous.

I am addicted to never hearing anyone say "I can't make it to work today because..." ever again.

I need contact information! If there isn't a Swedish cell already I'll help set it up. This so perfectly describes me! /images/graemlins/smile.gif

I may be addicted to poker, but not to gambling as a whole. I find casino games to be really boring. Tho sometimes $.05 slots do get the better of me /images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I only play because I needed something to do while the wife played the slots, internet poker is just practice... (denial stage?)

True enough. I have become addicted to my monthly cash withdraws. I love party and interpoker sooo much. I dont know if I can live without them.

I don't ever play -EV games, which includes all casino games, state lotteries etc. No edge, no play.

My mom asked me if I was addicted to gambling last week.
I asked her if she was addicted to being a doctor.
I think she got the point /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Not me. For me, and addiction is something I have to do each day. I can easily do without poker for a day, a week, or whatever - and I do. The only things I am really addicted to are:

1) Breathing
2) water
3) some amount of food (but I can fast for several days if necessary)
4) American Idol (acutally Simon's comments - I skip forward past the singing part)

I like playing cards. I need extra income. There's nothing to do after 10:00 except watch TV. I actually don't get off on the thrill of gambling. I play low stakes while bonus whoring where the risk is very low and income very predictable. I'm actually a little sick of the poker grind and frequently have to talk myself into playing enough poker to clear all the bonuses. I think when you're addicted to somehting it works the other way around.

If I'm addicted to anything it's internet messageboards. I rationalize that it is better than watching TV but I read too many stupid threads like this one for that to possibly be true. Before this messageboard I was a multi-1000 poster at another site (that had nothing to do with poker). I literally have to tear myself away from these infernal boars sometimes. I miss them when I'm on vacation. I need help. Is there a MB Anonymous?

I consider myself a workaholic rather than an addict. I was the same way at my pre-poker jobs
