me, snowbank, and someone else were participating in this and hopefully they will post their progress as well. i guess first my stats progress. i overwrote my previous screenshot so if you check week1 you will see the same image.

based on my stats im inclined to say im running well, however not being accustomed to limit i dont know if thats the case or not. however i play so tight that whenever im in a pot, im very aggressive because im so confident that i have the best hand and will be paid off. the tables feel so passive that i can just push people around. i suppose as i move up in limits this will change.

but as far as im concerned, the play at this level has been fairly bad from what i can tell. being a NL player i still think i fold too often. if i think im beat i will just let it go rather that risk losing more. however in NL it could mean risking my whole stack. here its just a bet. i know this is incorrect and that i should be thinking in terms of "1 bet to win 9.. i only need to be ahead 10% of the time to make this call correct." im working on this.

one example of bad aggression on my part. i had been raising fairly often preflop so i figured he might have been a little loose. i decided to cap and take the lead and put the pressure on him to hit the flop. he ended up having AK here and dragging it. looking at the results i think he would fold to a bet on the river..

Looks like it's going well. I, personally, think your VPIP is too low and you are probably missing out on some multiway or LP limps. It does look like you're running very well. Good luck as it continues.

good luck. i was in the same boat a couple months ago. i played nl for a couple months, and it completely changed my limit game when i came back. i am still too tight preflop. the funny thing is that my first month back to limit, i had my best winrate ever for a month, despite the fact that i played so tight. i think the difference was that i no longer missed value bets, because i saw how often my top pr held up in nl. also, i was probably running very well. what are your plans for this challenge? are you thinking about becoming a limit player longterm?

I'm no expert but I'd say it's too low if you're playing 6 handed (get it to 30%) and too high if you're playing full table (get it down to 20%).

Can you not read good?

His VPIP is 12. I agree with what one of the others posted. You can get into those large multiway pots with hands that play well multiway - knowing that you can easily outplay this calibre of field.

76s, Q9s, JTs, Kxs, Axs, 54s, etc...

You're leaving a ton of money on the table if you don't take advantage of those multiway opportunities and just mindlessly fold fold fold.

basically i want to become proficient at this form of holdem. until i get to higher limits i wont be sure if i will make a permanent switch to limit and just ditch the NL. just not sure yet. live limit seems like a gold mine also..

Higher limit games are muc softer than their NL counterparts. The 20-40 live games at the borgata are uber soft. The 40-80 actually has some soft spots as well. (though not nearly as soft as the 20) The 5-10 NL (1k max) has some softer spots but has some really tough ones too.
