I would like to hear your opinions on this hand.

23 player home game tourney for $40 plus $20 re-buys.
Pay outs are:
1st= $660 (50%)
2nd= $400 (30%
3rd= $130 (20%)
4th= $40

Down to 4 players with blinds at 500/1000 (no ante)

Player A=$11,000 (tight-aggressive)
Player B=$6000 (loose-passive)
Player C (SB) =$ 7,000 (semi-loose-passive)
Player D (BB) =$ 8,000 (semi-loose-aggressive)

Players A and B fold. Player C (SB) raises to $3,000 player D (BB) goes all in. Player (C) holds Ah 2h

1) Was the $3,000 bet a good bet?

1.1) what should player C do after the all in bet and why?

Player D (BB) holds 3d 3s.

2) Was the all in a good move? If not what would have been and why?

The result really doesn't matter but I’ll post it later if there is any interest.

Thanks in advance.

I personally dread the blinds being this high relative to the chip stacks. Average chip stack doesn't even have 10x BB.

Were those chip stack amounts before or after posting blinds?

1. If Player C was going to call an all-in raise with A2s, he should have pushed in the first place. That's not really the kind of hand you want to play out. You need to put the pressure on the BB, because a call from him would be risking most of his chips.
1.1. It's pretty hard to fold here with half (?) of his stack already in, hence the initial push.

2. Player D's all-in is the best move. All-in > Fold > Call. With a low pair, you can't afford to give away three free cards in hopes your opponent doesn't pair anything higher than a 3.

If hes looking to take the BB then he has to push. First off he put in just about half his stack on a hand where he did not even see the flop. With the blinds that high theres no question a push is in order. What if BB only calls. What does he do know. His only bet is all in and other then the push preflop sb loses all folding equity on the hand.

no comments on the hand right now, but i thought i'd chime in on something that i have a problem with in general on this board.

try to make the title of your thread in some way helpful to people who are browsing. "hand discussion" doesn't cut it. this isn't just for everyone else's convenience, it's more likely as well that others will read your post if well titled.

Ninjaunderwear, or anyone out there,

Can you suggested suggest a better blind structure?
I agree that towards the end of our games especially when we are down to 4 or 5 players the blinds force all-ins a lot.
There are anywhere from 8 to 30 players with our average games being 16 players in two tables of 8. We keep the tables even and we combine when we are down to 9.

We play 30 minute blinds starting with 1,000 chips, blinds are:
10/20
20/40
40/80
50/100
80/160 (sometimes 100/200)
100/200
150/300
200/400
400/800
500/1000
600/1200 and so on....

Thanks!

Add a couple of levels from 200/400 to 400/800 (500 and 600 should do it).

In the actual hand, the SB should autopush but since he's that bad/weak the BB has a clear all in since he apparently actually has folding equity.

ok, this one's kinda easy:

1. No, you should push
1a. You have to call now

2. I agree with adanthar here, if this guy is gonna bet half his stack and there's even a slim chance of his folding, the 33 HAS to move in here.

structure info: definitely add 300/600 at least and possibly 250/500
