UB 2-4

Typical, semi aggro game

UTG, UTG1, MP limps. I complete in the sb, BB raps.

5 to the flop.

Flop: A J T r 1 of my suit.

Checked around. Suprised at this. hmmm....

Turn: 9 puts a 2 tone on the board, not mine however /images/graemlins/frown.gif

I check, Bb bets, 1 fold, UTG1 calls, MP calls, I fold.

Looks like 5.5 BB against a gut shot draw to a possible split. Folding appears to be clearly the correct play. Am I missing something?

The fact that it's open-ended. But I still like the fold.

Right, thanks. Clearly I should go to bed. And I also still like the fold.

How about betting out on the turn?

Pretty futile, IMO. The problem is that they will call with a Q for sure, and a lot of other stuff too. It's easy to see them checking that flop with a non-ace pair, but they're not folding.

Another problem is knowing if I bet the turn, and another Q calls, he's making a mistake, but it affects us both because I know I'm only contesting 1/2 the pot. Most will not fold a turned openender. So I have to put myself in his position as if a bet were to me with a bunch of callers.

Would've been much nicer if the turn was of my suit. /images/graemlins/smirk.gif
