when they find a new song they like, listen to it continuously for some time, like a few hours. I don't know anyone besides me who does this.

I play it the same.

Right now it's "In The Waiting Line" from Zero 7 off of the Garden State soundtrack. Songs recently reaching this status are "Seven Caged Tigers" from Stone Temple Pilots, "Wasted and Ready" from Ben Kweller and "Under Control" from The Strokes.

Oh yeah. I do it with old songs I haven't heard in a long time as well. Fun stuff.

The downside is I often do it to the singles from new albums I buy, and within a week I never want to hear the single again.

You forgot about the part where you finally get really sick of it and never want to listen to it again. Ya I do it all the time.

Same here. I especially did it in college when my CD player only held one CD.

This doesn't happen to me. After the new song is "broken in", it goes into my repetoire of songs and I will play it now and then.

My roomate recently pulled this s[/i]hit when he found some new song. He listened to the song on repeat for hours at a time for a couple days. He has garbage headphones and I could constantly hear the annoying beat. I wanted to kill him.

Is it just me, or does the woman whose vocal's are featured in that song sound incredibly hot?

Is this an aural judgement, or do you have more information?

I do the EXACT same thing. However, I listen to the same song or CD for days on end. Whenever Eminem drops an album I'll listen to it all day everyday for weeks. Then, still listen to it once in a while.

I love music.

I do it sometimes. When I do it's because I'm breaking down the song. I'm listening to each individual instrument throught the entire song. I then learn the lyrics and see how well they relate to the music and vice versa. I find by listening to music this way it gives me the best understanding of a song.

I also play 5 instruments and sometimes do that same thing but for the purpose of learning how to play it.
