I'm just finishing up my first week playing online after about a year of successful B&M play. (Not that I consider myself an expert, or even an above-average player; I simply had a pretty good year.)

When you guys started online, did you have trouble adjusting? I think part of the problem I'm having is that it doesn't feel like "real money" to me. After thinking about my play over this week, I realized I was making too many loose calls and raises simply because it's so easy to do so -- just click the button.

I've since tightened up quite a bit, but wondered if anybody experienced the same feeling when moving from B&M to online.

Thanks.

You're right, it does take some adjusting to. It's weird having $20 in your wallet, yet having thousands online. Just remember everything you've learned, and focus on playing well. This is one of the biggest adjustments--there are FAR more distractions at home than at the B&M. Good luck during your shift to online play.

B&M = Brick and mortar = games in casinos...

Playing online makes the money more realistic then live games. I think it has to do with the fact that I actually see dollar amounts in my account dip and rise.

If you play a lot and have a fair amount of money in play (on-line) you will get over this problem very fast.
