Can someone recommend a good beginners' blackjack book for someone(me) who knows very little about blackjack(besides the basic rules)?

Thanks,
Dead

Go to this part of www.bj21.com (http://www.bj21.com) and create your own basic strategy chart for whatever number of decks and rules you will be playing http://www.blackjackinfo.com/bjbse.php . If you then want to get into card counting I would recommend Knock Out Blackjack by Fuchs and Vancura unless you plan on playing with a team or betting very large amounts.

Memorize the "Basic Strategy", you can get it for free at many places on line.

I disagree. KO is easier to use with less "am I 1/2 way through the shoe" calculations. I've run various scenarios on CVCX and KO outperforms BBinBJ in shoe games.

Any Uston book is entertaining along with providing information. The stories alone are worth the cover price. Probably will want to get Uston on Blackjack (I think, it has a white cover) because it was written years after his other books and he realized his previous fairly-conservative bankrolls may have been a bit liberal. It really helps put bb/bankroll in perspective. I don't care who says so, a 300bb bankroll doesn't cut it in this business.
