Posted in CO with 5 /images/graemlins/club.gif4 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif (Crypto $1/2)

Folded to me, I check, SB calls, BB calls

Flop: 2 /images/graemlins/heart.gif 8 /images/graemlins/spade.gif 5 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif

SB bets, BB folds, I raise, SB calls

Turn 4 /images/graemlins/spade.gif

SB bets, I raise, SB reraises, I call

River 7 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif

SB checks, I check

Question: I am happy with my play until the river. Should I have bet?

I might raise preflop.

You called the 3-bet on the turn because you could be beat against this action, not because you want to pop SB again on the river. The scare card fell, which may or may not have helped SB, but it did not help you and SB will never fold to your bet. The check behind is logical.

Also to keep in mind: SB is the only player who invested money preflop, which makes him more likely to hold a small set.

I'd fold the flop. The river check is ok.

Raise preflop 100% of the time here. Also if this is Crypto 1/2 full my experience is you should not slow down this quickly. He will have an overpair or top pair here alot and still 3 bet the turn. The only reason I wouldn't reraise the turn is because there is no cap heads up on crypto and getting 5 bet would suck. When he checks the river you definitely have him beat. Raise preflop 100% with any 2 cards.

Yes, he is the first one in from CO. The idea is to Raise, and then continue aggression through til end. Well, don't reraise if raised, but be the aggressor. More times than not, folks will fold.
