MP ($192.8)
CO ($339.9)
Button ($1852.95)
SB ($356.2)
BB ($136)
Hero ($282.3)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with 9/images/graemlins/club.gif, 9/images/graemlins/diamond.gif. SB posts a blind of $2.
Hero raises to $15, 2 folds, Button calls $15, 2 folds.

Flop: ($36) J/images/graemlins/club.gif, 9/images/graemlins/spade.gif, 2/images/graemlins/club.gif (2 players)

Button is once again, extremely tricky, LAG high-limit, thinking player from Stars.

I checked as did he. The turn came out Q /images/graemlins/spade.gif. What's your move now?

I would've bet the flop. A tricky player might play back at you and then you can get more in. As it is I bet 24$ here.

you have to bet the flop and hope for some action

vs a tricky player, bet the flop and hope he tries to make a play at you. As it is, quite a few cards can come on the turn that either kill the action or seriously concern you.

The button is ChipMovr.

The problem with betting is that if the flop did not hit him at all he will get rid of it. If I check the flop that can show weakness and he will bet any kind of draw and any pair, so I will be able to see where he is in the hand and bet accordingly. Since he checked I figured he had little to nothing, he may have even bet A high here. The by betting out on the turn it looks like I'm taking advantage of his check on the flop, as a sign of weakness, and I'm much more likely to get action.

I think betting the flop here is horrible because of this. Comments?

well you are relying on him betting his draw. he could easily check behind and outdraw you and then youll be steaming. if you bet and he has nothing, so be it. you werent going to make much money anyway.

ahh ChipMovr.. havent seem him at the 200nl tables. but i can tell you this, he surely isnt playing high limit on stars anymore. he had over $100k bankroll and just about went bust playing over his head. now hes grinding it out low stakes style.

Interesting, I just had a hand exactly like this. Normally I lead out with my sets, but the board wasn't that scary and I was confident that no one could improve too much on the turn to beat me. (Looking back, well, besides a gutshot straight draw)

Fortunately, I was just up against an idiot.

I think this looks odd. You raised about 3x BB and then checked the flop. I think if Button is extremely tricky, you want him to try to make a move here. Betting the flop after raising pre flop is pretty standard, and leaves him more likely to try something, IMO. Betting the turn makes it look too much like you hit a monster, IMO.
