CI Host to Sponsor Poker Contender Dutch Boyd

SAN DIEGO, California – (PRESS RELEASE) -- C I Host, a global leader in Web hosting and data center operations, has stacked the deck with guerilla marketing. Today, it announced television sponsorship of ESPN World Series of Poker contender Dutch Boyd during circuit competition. First stop -- Harrah's Rincon San Diego casino.

Christopher Faulkner, CEO of C I Host, said, "Dutch has taken the poker world by storm, a veritable unknown who has won big. C I Host will take some of that action."

Boyd will appear on national television sporting C I Host's well-known orange logo on his attire -- the same mark tattooed permanently on the back of the Human Billboard's head two years ago.

"C I Host invented the tattoo ad craze, and naturally, some folks thought we weren't playing with a full deck. However, the guerilla medium is everywhere -- all over the news. Now, we'll try our hand in poker," Faulkner said.

The Dutch Boyd sponsorship kicks off during a "No-Limit Hold 'em" event at the Harrah's Rincon in San Diego, February 27 through March 2. ESPN will air the final table, March 2. Based on past viewership, the coverage is expected to draw well over 1 million households.

The controversial Dutch Boyd arrived in living rooms around the country during ESPN's 2003 World Series of Poker. His poker career began four years before that, at age eighteen, when he started adding tournament wins to the list of accomplishments that already included a law degree.

You knew this was bound to happen with all his ebay auctions, the the avg. viewer/sponsor Boyd is a pretty charaismatic young player that surely gets his share of attention/tv time this is probably extremely +EV for them.

/images/graemlins/laugh.gif Reminds me of Bevis and Butthead's "Fire is cool".

So is a prison cell. They should go together. Then Dutch could have a better perspective on getting screwed.

Dutch has taken the poker world by storm? WON BIG?

CI CEO must be his dad or something... What a load of crap...

SUCKERS! That's a stock to stay away from. 8)

If he won big, I think it was called pokerspot?

This will surely endear even more fans to Dutch! /s

Objection; speculation...There's no proof that he actually stole the money.

He has admitted he didn't repay players their money, which was supposed to have been kept in a trust account. That's called "stealing".

I don't have a problem with blogs (as long as they're not the teenage girl type blogs: "Today I did this, this, this, and this. Then I hung out for a while. Then we watched a movie. OMG it was funny ROFLMAO.")
But yes, spoof blogs are pretty dumb...especially this one. Pointless sh*t...

Don't think this will get them that much exposure cause I don't see him making many more final tables.

He sure is making a good living off the 2003 WSOP, huh? ESPN should ask him for royalty payments.
