I'm with you, except at Bodog I got St. John's at +13.5 for one unit. They haven't lost by more than 13 all year except for a road game versus Connecticut. I think they'll probably cover the +13.5 here given that it's a televised game on ABC and they're playing a ranked...

I'm also adding in Kentucky at +3. I like how they match up versus Alabama, I think they're a much better shooting team and could win this outright their fair share..

BTW, my YTD is 0-1-0 /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Ah, the joys of regional coverage. My ABC affiliate has Missouri/Texas.

You're not missing much, unless seeing Duke shoot below 30% (Redick is shooting 1-for-412), continue to turn the ball over (21 so far) and play spotty defense excites you.

UNC is great and Wake and Duke have outside chances of making a Final Four run, but the rest of the ACC is wildly overrated.

I like Duke a lot (and picked them -12 today because SJU is the worst the Big East has to offer), but the Big East is simply a much tougher conference than the ACC.

Duke -11.5 @ St. Johns

[/ QUOTE ]

Duke 58, SJU 47

Duke up 11 with 28.4 to go, they're fouled, make 2 FT's, go up 13, and a SHADY foul call on a 3 point shot at the end dooms the spread as SJU goes to the line and makes 2 of 3 foul shots. Duke shot 30% from the floor, turned the ball over 16 times (erroneously reported as 21 in my earlier post), Redick was 2-11, the team did absolutely nothing right today, and they still won by 11. But the ending was super-duper college-special shady!

not to mention that I can't believe Duke didn't grab the rebound off the missed layup.

My point about the Big East remains, however. You can say all you want about how poorly Duke played. They would like that a lot more often with a steady diet of BC, Syracuse, UConn, Nova, Pitt, ND, GTown, etc.

Yup, as soon as Duke made the two FT's to go up 13 I knew I had lost the game, seen it too many times to know that I was safe...shoulda bought a half-point but jeez, if they had even shot 35% it would have been a whoopin'. Ohwell....

PS - Duke is too small and too untalented to get out of the 2nd round of the NCAA's

Maybe if they played someone during the season they would be ready for what other teams are going to throw at them. *cough* Coach K is a pussy *cough*

4-2 today. Made some other bets that I was very upset about...For example, team is outscored 1-12 with 1:57 remaining, team outscored 2-9 with 2:06 remaining, team outscored 7-18 with 4:05 remaining, etc. There's a couple of others but I won't get into detail about them. /images/graemlins/mad.gif /images/graemlins/mad.gif /images/graemlins/mad.gif /images/graemlins/mad.gif /images/graemlins/mad.gif /images/graemlins/mad.gif /images/graemlins/mad.gif /images/graemlins/mad.gif /images/graemlins/mad.gif /images/graemlins/mad.gif

Sagarin doesn't think so. For example, Georgia Tech is 14th in the predictor.

[/ QUOTE ]

Explain your reasoning here. The Big East is weaker at the top and weaker at the bottom, so we're just arguing about the middle, and I don't think it's clearcut there.
