The "O" is sweeeeeet. I usually get the chicken on the barbie, simply because they have the best BBQ sauce ever. I have had their steaks before and they are all good, and like a previous poster I would recommend Victoria's Filet. Also if you are a shrimp fan, the Grilled Shrimp on the Barbie is the greatest appetizer ever.

If you like to eat a lot, the 20oz porterhouse is good. The Outback special is very good as well.

Coconut Shrimp as an appetizer, and if you're in a steak mood get either the Ayers Rock Strip or the Rockhampton Rib-Eye. The Rib-Eye is a little more flavorful and tender, but is laced with a little bit of fat. The Rock Strip is a little leaner cut of meat. If you're in a fish mood the Swordfish special they are running right now is really good. Their garlic mashed potatoes are fantastic, and I usually get a Caesar's salad to go with it. Their broccoli soup is good, if you like that. If you decide you don't want a soup or salad you can get an extra side dish instead - the steamed vegetables are very good (they come soaked in butter and I always get cheese melted over them).

And, of course, a tall Newcastle to wash it all down with.

I knew I would get a helpful resposne from a group of poker playing posters.

I think I'm gonna get the Victorian as a few of you suggested. I'll let you know what I thought when I get back.

1 and 1a are the Porterhouse(melbourne i think they call it) and the Rockhampton Rib Eye. Medium Rare. Shrimp on the barbie = good appetizer

only thing i really like about the place is the brown bread and the sweet potatoes but that's more like a brown sugar + butter vehicle than a vegetable in that context

Only time I ever went to an Outback was at a state bowling tournament. I was the new guy, these are all my 'bowling buddies' who are totally different than my other friends, etc. All very nice guys but we are a different crowd. Anyway, we went to Outback and got plastered waiting for a table and had a blast. I remember eating steak, chicken, potatoes, shrimp, a pretty good burger, some other stuff. We were there for like 4 hours and then the waitress sent us to some rock bar and only I and one of the other guys' girlfriends went, and we did some car bombs and she got hit on by about 20 scary looking guys and I had to half-drag her home and she almost peed on me. Good times.

Bowled horrible tho... /images/graemlins/frown.gif

yeah i just get the burger which is not the best part of the meal. really what's good is french onion soup with this nice smelly guyere cheese and the greasy blooming onion thing with the nice dipping sauce horseradishy and all. yum, pig out food. get drunk first it tastes much better then.

I haven't been to outback in 3-4 years. But when I went, the outback special was a pretty good steak.

That said, I think a prime ribeye grilled on my balcony beats the hell out of anything they serve at outback.
