It's a real-time-strategy game. One of the most popular early ones. Mammoth tanks were basically teh fighting unit of choice, and you'd plan massive tank rushes with them.

Sort of. It's an old school RTS game, pure and well designed. The mammoth tank was the nuts of Command and Conquer. It was the biggest, baddest and most feared unit in the game. Which makes it a good avatar.
