just wondering is there any great differences between the 5+1 games and the 10+1 games on PP, I am a relatively new player at holdem and at the sng's (only about 75) but have been doing quite well at them. I play two at the same time quite comfortably. Should I go straight up to 10+1(maybe two at a time) or should I stick at the 5+1 level for now and try and play 3 or 4 at a time.

also what criteria are needed to play the following hands at the early levels(i.e 1 to 3)(e.g late/early position, a certain number of callers)

i'm assuming I should fold to any raise regardless of position?

i) ace-rag suited
ii) suited connecter (78 up to 10J)
iii) ace-8/9/10 off suit

any advice you could give would be great, thanks. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Go for the $11 as the rake is 1/2 of what you are currently paying.

I get a lot of comments about how the $5 and $10s are equal in strength. I disagree and think that the $5's are much easier. This is based on a lot of students who just blaze through the $5s and have serious roadblocks at the $10s.

But he has played 75 and doing well, I think the $11s are in order to at least try.

Oh yes yes, sure go for it. I was just preemptively debating with the people who say that $5s and $10s are the same.

The competition is definately better at the $11 tables. But the lower rake makes up for the increase in skill. I say move to the $11s and play one table for a while to get a feel for any differences (and there aren't many). Than you can proceed to 2, 3 or 4 tabling as you get comfortable. Take it slow though, moving to multi-tabling too fast is a good way to lose money.

Here is an old post that should help with a good strategy to use to beat the low level Party SNGs
