My 2497th post...

...which means I will soon get the title of Carpal Tunnel, which is the highest title one can get on this forum.

But due to the poker craze and the invasion of this forum by college students with loads of free time, the title of Carpal Tunnel does not have the meaning it used to. We have some Carpal Tunnels who have only been on the site a few months and I have a sneaking suspicion that some of them don’t even play poker.

So I propose that we change the titles that we give to users based on the number of posts. For example:

0 Thinking of moving up to avoid loose players
1 Stranger
50 Newbie
75 Passive Preflop
175 journeyman
200 Rakeback Recipient
275 member
300 Weak-tight
475 enthusiast
500 Pokertracker owner
775 Addict
800 Taking a shot
1200 Old hand
1225 Multi-tabler
1500 Veteran
1550 Running bad
2500 Pooh-bah
5000 Carpal Tunnel
10000 Diabloesque
15000 Noted Poker Authority

Also, posts in the politics and Other Other Topics forum should not be counted.

I think that would a hard thing to accomplish. the forum program just recognizes how many posts you have made, not in what part of the forum it's in. At least I don't think it can do that.

You make a good (semi-serious) point. It seems like there are people who joined in '05 who have as many posts as you do.

Also, some of the posts I've read lately make think that the moderators should have the option of penalizing some posters by temporarily replacing their titles with something like "schmuck" or "yutz" for a period commensurate with their offense. Of course, I guess some leniency would have to be shown for forums like NVG.
