Buy-in was $10.. and I just read a similiar thread that says that I shouldn't have raised in the first place.. Does everyone agree with that?

Your preflop raise is bad because it has no purpose, except to build the pot. There is very little chance your opponents will fold after you raise it just 60 more chips.
If you want to raise preflop, you should raise more to begin with, and not put yourself in situations where you have to play guessing games like this.
