Hello. Quick question for you experts:

My friend (another 2+2er) and I are heading to Milwaukee next Friday for a day at Potowatome Bingo and Casino's poker room. I usually play $.50-$1 or $1-$2 online, and I have had fair results.

I was planning on taking about $300-$500 for the day, and was just assuming I'd sit at the $2-$4 table and such, because that's their lowest-limit table. But my friend was telling me that, when making a trip to a B&M, that it would be OK to give the $5-$10 a try (apparently there's no $3-$6 or $4-$8 there ... which doesn't sound right to me, but whatever).

So, thoughts? I feel very comfortable at the $2-$4, but would have the roll to sit at the $5-$10.

Any major differences I should expect? Is it just flat-out a bad idea? Could I start at 5-10 and, if I got down to 200, ask to move tables down to the 2-4? Or should I start at the 2-4, and if I go on a run, move up to the 5-10?

Any help would be appreciated. I'd like to have fun and always have had great success sitting at the 2-4 at this casino, but maybe it's time to test the waters?

Let me know, and thanks in advance for your advice.

$500 should be plenty to sit at a 5/10 if you're just going for the day unless your "day" is sitting all afternoon and through the night. But if you're willing to drop back to 2/4 then it's definitely enough.

If $500 is really a meaningful amount to you though then I'd suggest the 2/4. But if you don't mind losing it then sure.

500 is plenty for a day of 5/10. I don't play online but spend a fair amount of time on this board and I think table selection in a b&m is more important than which limit to play (verses online) assuming you have the roll for it. Played all day sunday and sat at a 4/8 waiting for a 10/20 table and the play at the 4/8 was tighter and tougher than the 10/20 /images/graemlins/grin.gif and that is especially true on the weekends. Don't be afraid to give it a shot if you don't mind risking your roll.

My advice:

Stop being such a god-damned pussy and such.

Also, any other 2+2ers going to be at Potawotomi next Friday?
