I have been getting killed with AJo. Today alone I lost almost $800 with this hand. I am going to drastically reduce the spots where I play AJo. This is the first of several hands from today that I am going to post. Some of them are horrible play on my part, some are bad beats. Comments appreciated.

Opponent is loose and passive. This felt very standard. Check-raise anywhere?

Party Poker 15/30 Hold'em (9 handed) converter (http://www.selachian.com/tools/bisonconverter/hhconverter.cgi)

Preflop: Hero is BB with J/images/graemlins/spade.gif, A/images/graemlins/heart.gif.
6 folds, SB completes, Hero checks.

Flop: (2 SB) Q/images/graemlins/spade.gif, 9/images/graemlins/club.gif, A/images/graemlins/diamond.gif (3 players)
SB checks, Hero bets, SB folds.

Turn: (1.50 BB) 4/images/graemlins/spade.gif (2 players)
Hero bets.

River: (2.50 BB) 7/images/graemlins/heart.gif (2 players)

Final Pot: 2.50 BB

something is wrong with the hand converter...the action was bet/call, bet/call on the turn and river.

How do you not raise preflop?

There is something messed up here, the converter says 3 to the flop, then it only has you and the SB. I'm guessing somebody else limped seeing as you asked about a checkraise.

the hand history on this one is messed up.

The correct action pre-flop was MP limper, SB completes.
Then the flop was sb checks, i bet, mp calls, sb folds.
bet/call turn, bet/call river.

Does the MP limper change anything or do you always raise pre-flop with this hand?

If it was just the SB completing I would raise 100% of the time...the limper changes my mind. I hate playing AJo out-of-position when it misses the flop in a raised pot.

AJ is ugly to play out of position when you miss. If the SB folds when he completes(which is unusual), you should raise this every time. If not, I think you should raise it a lot of the time(esp if the Mp is loose and predictable).

SB had Q7 for the rivered two pair.
