Party Poker 5/10 Hold'em (8 handed) converter (http://www.selachian.com/tools/bisonconverter/hhconverter.cgi)

Preflop: Hero is MP1 with J/images/graemlins/heart.gif, J/images/graemlins/spade.gif.
<font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises</font>, MP2 calls, <font color="#666666">4 folds</font>.

MP2 is loose passive.

Flop: (5.40 SB) K/images/graemlins/spade.gif, 5/images/graemlins/heart.gif, 2/images/graemlins/diamond.gif <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">Hero bets</font>, <font color="#CC3333">MP2 raises</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero 3-bets</font>, MP2 calls.

I dont like the king but I have been representing a big hand so far so I went with it. The 3 bet slowed him down - perhaps he has a K with a poor kicker or a lower pair than mine?

Turn: (5.70 BB) 7/images/graemlins/diamond.gif <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">Hero bets</font>, MP2 calls.

I must lead here after 3-betting right? If he has the king and I check he will bet anyways.

River: (7.70 BB) A/images/graemlins/heart.gif <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">Hero bets</font>, MP2 folds.

Final Pot: 8.70 BB

Against a LP player I would probably fold to his flop bet on a drawless board. I doubt he coldcalls preflop with a 5 or 2. If he does, I doubt that he raises the flop with them unless it's a set. So, he either has a K or a PP like 88-QQ.

a passive player raising the flop should set off the red light. don't 3-bet the flop, fold the turn.

This would be a pretty typical line for me and I'd expect to see a middle pocket pair pretty often. I guess it really depends on how "loose/passive" MP2 is.

I wouldn't expect to see anything lower than a K from a loose passive player as it's a rarity that a passive raises with a card higher than their pair on the baord.

Yea, like I said it depends a lot on the read. Some loose/passives though will take one shot at it and then freeze up into call-down mode with worse hands. And if you're continuing with this hand I think this line is best.

Plus some loose/passives do play more aggressively heads-up than they normally would.

I thought he might raise that flop with any PP higher than the 5. He could have cold called preflop with 66-QQ or any hand with a K - AK,KQ,KJ,KT etc..

I had concerns about him having the K but I did not think he would make me pay very much to see the river even with AK, or KQ if I remained the agggressor. I also wanted to remain in control of the hand and table.
