Lies, scandalizin', basin'. Traits of hate, who's celebratin' with Satan?
I rope-a-dope the evil with righteous bobbin' and weavin', and let the good get even.

When I met you last night baby
Before you opened up your gap
I had respect for ya lady
But now I take it all back
Cause you gave me all your pussy
And ya even licked my balls
Leave your number on the cabinet
And I promise baby, I'll give ya a call
Next time I'm feelin kinda horny
You can come on over, and I'll break you off
And if you can't [censored], that day, baby
Just lay back, and open your mouth
Cause I have never
met a girl
That I love
in the whole wide world

"They're sharing a drink they call lonliness,
But it's better than drinking alone."

"...We never knew we could want more than that out life."

Bonus points to whoever can name those two songs (hint: same artist).

Second one was a guess, first one is obvious. I just hope that it's river of dreams or whatever.

Good man! Unless of course you used Google, in which case you should be shot in kneecaps.

That line from Scenes From an Italian Restaurant is my single favorite song lyric. I listened to that song for about 6 years before I really got that line. (Of course, I was in middle school when I first learned that song.) Just a great example of saying very subtly what the entire song is about.

I have none of the skill that you have in dropping quotes from movies (or one movie /images/graemlins/grin.gif) but I can recognize song lyrics with the best. My Dad listened to Billy Joel 24/7 when I was growing up, so this, for me, was an easy one.

I just drank an excellent bottle of wine, and I'm thinking about opening another. I can vouch for the booze being good stuff.

edit - and I'm drinking alone. And yea, it would be better. But this is still pretty good.

I'm drinking a California Pale Ale with my buddy, and then we are going to have some Duvel. God bless California, and Belgium.

Indeed. Nice choice on the Duvel, and nice loc. Where do you get your booze here? I usually go with The Wine House, since it's about 1 mile from me.

I've been pretty stingy about withdrawing cash from my poker bankroll for stuff. So far I've taken 1200 for 2 2001FPs, and about 2000 for good booze. (I like the good stuff, and I like having friends over.) The Wine House likes me. Whenever I end up in Costa Mesa, I end up spending a fair amount at Hi Time Wine Cellars.

The Wine Expo in Santa Monica and a beer store in Culver City that I can't remember the name of.

The only booze I've bought with poker money is a bottle of Johnnie Walker blue.

Never heard of it, but I'll give it a shot. I think it's reasonable to assume that anywhere stocking Duvel is worth my time.

[/ QUOTE ] So far I've had other money paying the rent, so this seems like a reasonable choice. Certainly not the one I'd make though.

But isn't there something really nice about buying something semi-extravagant with poker $$$?

The Duvel I found at Whole Foods! As for the Wine Expo, it's an awesome place. I don't want to spoil the experience, so I'll leave it at that. Tomorrow I'll try and remember the name of this beer store in Culver City; that place is great too.

Yes, there totally is. My first poker purchase was an iPod, which f[/i]ucking rules.

ok, if you're gunna put a rap line up for this...make it good...i mean c'mon...

make it something cannibus or black thought spit, not some up in tha club, got nuthin but tha beats [censored] 'cause its a lyracist thats what you want.

or cormega:
"people feelin my pain, a mental bond shared.
been through so many struggles, only to persevere.
rememba when we hustled, knowin the first was near.
thats when that money doubled, and we purchased gear.
now was it worth my trouble? it was my first career.
the only life i knew, there's no regrets or fears.
yo' son i remenisce this ghetto life and shed a tear,
for my, n****s who walkin up heaven's stairs.

i met men in penetentaries.
who been down so long they barely miss the streets.
if ya real hold ya own son, lay your law.
my inner visions are revealed so i say no more.
my man said it aint a game, so i play no more.
whetehr you rap or bust gatts, lay your law.
fu.ck that. if you touch crack, save up.
your story, can be reduced to jail suits and war stories.
DEEP tha way ma' pen speaks words ma' mouth envies.
im hopin, holy water could clense me.
Ds wanted to apprehend me.
if i affected your life, in any way trife
when i was doin crime forgive me."

later on he says:

"i try ta be
thinkin ah ways to get paid.
ma' realness engraved from the cradle to tha grave.
'mega [like cormega] my depature from drugs could neva
sever what i learned, or respect i earned.
yo, my status alone surpases your own.
known for blastin my chrome and havin my own.
n*****s fraudulent. i wish there was a law against
tha sorta 'sh.it these rappers talk and never even thought
exist.

when i was young i used to hustle for jordan kicks.
when i matured i did it for a brick be cautionate
the prices up and down like the new york knicks
i got O G respect and a new four fifth."

if you read and injested that all, you can see why cormega is the most underrated and unknown rapper out.

and i didnt even get into the lyrics of black thought (lead lyricist for the roots), cannibus, eminem, or any of the insanely talented and more well known rappers out there...

-Barron

PS- i also love Phish, doors, stones, byrds, LED ZEPPLIN, the dead, and others.

I was going to post the lyrics to GG Allin's "I Kill Everything I F*ck," but I decided to take my own advice to Jake in the Posters You Dislike thread.

Here's a link, instead. Feels less improper, somehow.
