the BB is a tricky player, but maybe steaming a bit from the table talk that was going on towards me. One person was encouraging the rest to raise me as much as possible since i had been dictating the pace and raising and stealing pots

Raise preflop dude.

I don't know how tricky he is but this hand looks fine postflop. If the river was the 3 /images/graemlins/heart.gif I would raise the river in an instant.
