I seriously have the worst setup here at work.

My monitor blows; it's like 15" with a bunch of dead or fuxored pixels. I had to bring in my own wheel mouse. The box itself is okay speed-wise, but it has only an ancient CD-ROM, no DVD-ROM or CD-R.

And now the internets are frigging slow.

And to the first person who says, "Why don't you try doing some work," FU!

I don't have the sort of job that you can "work on" all day. I'm a writer, for christ's sake!

sucks man.

you could try tracing to some sites and seeing if the problem is regional or local to you.

on a windows box open a command prompt and try tracert www.google.com. (http://www.google.com.), or tracert www.microsoft.com (http://www.microsoft.com), yahoo.com, etc.

Delays over ~120ms (well, over 60ms is starting to get sucky) are what's killing you.

Won't help at all, but it will at least tell you if it's something near you or a bigger problem.

Well, everyone in the office is slow.

Thanks for the advice, though.
