I thought the only GOOD games to come out on N64 were mario kart, goldeneye, and starfox. I guess the sports titles were decent, but i've always thought nintendo was on a strong decline ever since their original system. Look at gamecube, things just keep getting worse.

1.Ocarina of Time
2.Perfect Dark
3.Goldeneye
Perfect Dark gets the nod due to those missiles that you allowed you to guide them around the levels in multiplayer.
Remote mine only multiplayer in Dark/Goldeneye is still my favorite setup.

I agree for the most part. Nintendo basically gets by on the strength of their franchises, which usually result in outstanding games. I buy each new Nintendo system because I'm not missing out on the Zelda/Mario/Metroid experiences, so I suppose their strategy is effective to some degree. But the lack of 3rd party software keeps them behind the market leaders for each generation of system.

Its just too easy, that is why.
There are plenty of great games, but only 3-4 stand on more than the others, and its painfully obvious. They have all been mentioned. I would add NBA jam but it didn't really originate on N64, but that is one of my favorite all time games to play. Quarter finals of the Blockbuster World Video Game Championships for the San Diego section baby!
I used to have a goldeneye strategy webpage back in like 9th grade and I didn't even own the game at that time. That is how much I played it at my friends house.
1. Perfect Dark
2. Goldeneye
3. Mariocart
4. the Tetris game
There were a few tetris games on the 64. I'm talking about the one which was basically a 4 player version of the gameboy tetris. When you get 2, 3, or 4 lines at once, they go to another player. There were several modes for deciding where this "garbage" goes. The best was "Hot Potato". A random player would be selected to recieve all garbage. This would continue until they got a line, at which point it would pass to another random player. We had hours of fun with this my freshman year of college.

I used to enjoy this game, but ever since some guys in my fraternity started playing it non-stop across the hall from me I kringe at the utter sound of it.

Honorable mention might go to Mario Party.
This game was actually quite fun on mini game mode where you could just select the games you wanted to play.
