What are some of your chip and a chair stories?

I know this isn't much but I was signed up for a freeroll and forgot about it for almost an hour. Starting stacks of 1500, I'm at 495 with blinds 75/150. I'm in the SB with KJo. I push and get two callers. ATs and ATo. I spike an Ace and get tripled up. Very next hand I get JKs. I call a shortstacks all-in for 300ish and the flop comes King high. I push, others fold and I double up. Over the next several hands I get slapped in the head with cards and flops. It's not the first break and I've gone from t495 to t12118. From 700ish place all the way to 27th (out of 2200) in about 15 minutes.

Was down to 100 in a MTT (600 entries), other players at my table had 2000-5000. I was BB and blinds were 100-200, so I was forced all-in. Got dealt AA and tripled up to 300. Next hand in small blind got A-9, all-in, tripled up to 900. Next hand got A-K, all-in, doubled up, now at 2000. Ended up finishing 7th. 3 times I was one hand away from busting out in like 400th. Can't ever throw in the towel in a tournament!

Just the other day, early on in a tourney, lost with nut flush on turn to a full house on the river so I was down to 20. Blinds were 10-20 and I went all in with TT with many limpers, someone bluffed at the nonexistent sidepot and I was up to 170. Couple hands later, 2 callers to my all in with AK, another bluff at no sidepot and I was up to 510. Got up to 6000 chips later on but bubbled out. Still was quite a comeback.

$45 buy-in local NL tournament. Make it to the final table, seated into the 500/1000 blinds and after posting and tossing crap cards with early position aggressive play I was left with a mere 1000 chips. Final 9 are paid so no worries there as I was short for the last hour and it was a miracle to make it to the final 9 anyway.

I ended up catching AA 3 hands later and more than quadrupled up...ended up riding the wave and waiting for others to bust, finished 4th moving up from $110 to $280 /images/graemlins/smile.gif

I got busted on AA from a player with QQ that flopped a set (why doesn't that ever happen to me?) so down to t135. Came all the way back to into play after 3 x AI over the next 15 hands while everyone helped out by folding around while I was in the BB. Ended up winning in this 10+1 SnG.

Good stuff!

I have two that stand out.

First was in a S&G at Paradise poker. I get knocked down to 25 chips (from 800) and go on to win.

Second was in a Party Poker Sunday tournament. Blinds are 750/1500. I have 3000 and post the BB leaving me with 1500. I won that hand and built my stack up to over 150,000. I eventually finished 6th.

Well, my biggest one was in a WSOP Satellite on the weekend. $100+10 on Pacific Poker. I was doing quite well up until my Ace Queen ran into Ace King. I was then down to 2 chips (where the guy I bet into was taunting me the whole time as we just split the previous big pot saved by the river). I went on to win the next 8 or so hands in a row with hands like AA, AK, KK, QQ, 99, you name it... all top shelf hands pretty much. I was up to 4,500 chips at that point. After that, there was no stopping me (or the lucky cards) and about 1/2 hour later I had the chip lead with about 60 or 70 people left. I finished in 5th when the tournament was cancelled due to maintenance issues on the site. With about 40 people left, they split the prize pool... $1,000 each. I checked with the taunter and where he finished... 155th, nice try buddy! Top 2 would have gone to WSOP, too bad!

I've got 2 near comebacks-didn't win the tourney either time to really finish the "chip and a chair" cliche.

1. Cheapo $1+0 Omaha/8 Tournament at PokerStars with ~700 entrants. I make it to final table short-stacked. I hang on as the big stack mows over the competition and somehow end up in a heads-up situation with about 50K to his ~1 million. I then somehow over the next 20 or so minutes fight back to briefly take the chip lead before blowing it.

2. Small $5 pot-limit draw tourney at Planet Poker with only about 40 entrants or so. The tournament is paying 5 places. I lose a big pot and I'm left with 50 chips, blinds of 250/500 IIRC, and I'm all-in next hand in the big blind. I then go to win about 5 or 6 hands in a row, another player busts on the bubble, and I eventually take chip lead with 4 players left. I then blow it again and end up 3rd.
