First post. /images/graemlins/grin.gif

Played 3/6 for several hours last night, playing a tight, mostly ABC game. This hand came up and I did not feel as if I played it well, but I'm not certain what, exactly, I should have done differently. Feedback on all streets would be appreciated.

The guy raised preflop - you're not scared of the A, the Q, or the flush at that point?

Missed that. 3-bet PF.

I would re-raise preflop.

I'm not sure about the 3batting preflop just because you are in the BB and out of position. I think I would only do this against a LAG or if for some reason I wanted to lead the flop no matter what. It becomes tough though when you call and then lead into the flop when an A hits. If you do that then you can not check the turn because then the villian knows you dont have it. When you bet on the river he clearly knows that the 3 didnt help you, this is all assuming he is a somewhat thinking player so I would say that you have to bet that turn if you take this line of leading out on the flop. Any other lines people could think of that would work?

The advantage of 3-betting preflop is when you lead the flop when the ace hits, he'll probably fold any hand with no ace. If he calls, you can check/fold the turn UI.
