I know you are not supposed to bet parlays because they are -EV, but one cant help resist the urge in just wanting to spend 5 dollars to win 300.

There was a 3 week period during the NCAA FB season about 3 years ago where everything I touched was gold (9 or 10 out of 11 games all three weeks). On a lark I threw a $20 5 team parlay down the third week and hit /images/graemlins/grin.gif. Those 3 weeks represented about all the money I made that season as I was pretty much even the rest of the year. I'm patiently waiting for a repeat of that little run.

Hit a very nice 5 team round robbin by 2's and 3's this past saturday...+86 units. That was the largest I have ever won in one play - counting the bird as a single play. /images/graemlins/grin.gif

Missed a 10 team parlay by 1 yesterday. Overlooked one trend =\

So far this basketball season I've won over $5000 in 3 to 5 team parlays. I've mainly won with 4 teamers

When I first started betting a lil over 3 years ago, I placed a 10 dollar, 3-team parlay on 3 dogs in the nfl on the money line. Even tho it was only a 10 dollar bet, it still paid 12-1. Prob my best experience ratio wise with a parlay.

I went on a huge run in 2003 and made a lil under 1000 in under a week. I was really poor at the time and didn't really know what I was doing. I was sitting in my dorm room looking around baseball bets on sportsbook.com and just decided to let it ride on a 2 team parlay. Probably the worst decision of my life, but it looked good at the time. I decided to bet Dodgers money line (-145 or so) and the Royals against the Tigers (-240 or so) so I figured that KC was the lock and LA would have to come through for me to win. Well LA won, but Detroit decided to have their best game of the season by far and won like 15-6 or something along those lines. My bet was 800/1200 lol, prob the worst decision in sports betting history. Looking back on it, I was just like all the partypoker losers who move up in money and donate to all of us on a regular basis /images/graemlins/grin.gif

For those of us who are complete newbs. I came across them today and was wondering how they work.

say you like 5 teams -- instead of doing one 5-team parlay (-----EV), your book "round robins" each of your 5 picks into different 2-team (or 3-team) parlays. For 5 teams, you'd have 20 2-team parlays (5 X 4).

Not quite right....for a 5 team round robin parlay by 2's and 3's you would have 10 different combos of 2 team parlays, and 10 different combos of 3 team parlays.

I looked at that 100 times and knew there was something wrong with my math but I couldn't figure out what it was ... of course you are right, I am an idiot. I prefer to do reverses, which may be why I don't know what I am talking about.
