In this situation, I have 6x the BB and am UTG with 7s. Should I have waited or just pushed here? I don't think that calling was an option due to only having 6x the BB. What hands do you fold/push here? Are 2s-9s folding hands UTG when you have 6x the BB left?

I would of folded this because i was UTG, and there are too many players to act after me that might call with either a hand i am a severe underdog to (higher pair) or a coinflip (two overcards). If I was on button or cut off i would of pushed because of fold equity and the greater likelyhood that you have the best hand.

Your situation is not too bad at the moment, i think you can afford to wait for a better spot (but not for too long!).

2s - 9s I would push all in everytime from anywhere at that level with that stack size. I want the blinds without a fight or the race with the overcards.

Waiting would be a big mistake. You are most likely going to lose ~25% in the next two hands, and be on the button with T465. Poster did not say how many hands remaning at this level, but soon you'll have 2BB, so even if you have a decent hand the BB will have odds to call.

Given that you are 9 handed at T100, the table is pretty tight. You have to push and win the blinds or hopefully double up to have a chance at cashing.

Id push here.

I still disagree, if there were less players (6 or less) or my position was slightly better, I would of pushed. However I think the chances are that if you play this hand in this circumstance your going to get knocked out of the tournament.

I would wait till the next orbit, hopefully have a better oportunity to steal the blinds or double up. If you do double up on the next orbit your only a couple hundred less than if you managed it with this hand.

Maybe I'm just optomistic?

One thing you haven't taken into consideration is your stack size. With the blinds going up sometime between 1-9 hands (the poster did not say), you are going to have to steal soon. While neither situations is great, I think UTG 6.5BB with a pair is better than on the Button with 4BB.

I think the fact that there are so many people left in the tournament is a good reason to want a caller. You need to double up (and not just blind steal) if you want any chance of finishing ITM. You certainly are going to have to win a few clashes, so why not now?
