I'm dealt A7s and decide to raise. I'm still kind of fumbling around for the situations to bet shorthanded and how much, etc.

I raise to 600, get reraised all-in, and at this point I'm getting 2.3:1. I've seen him do this exact same play before with crap like K5, so he's probably not looking for a call. I went ahead and called, thoughts? If I was going to raise in this situation would it have been better to just put him all-in after the button had folded? What if the button had limped?

Even with the most generous pokerstove range I can give him, which is any 2 broadway + any pair, I'm still a coinflip in winning%.

Edit: whoops I rewrote and forgot to put who did what. Button folded, BB reraised all-in.

did button fold? who raised you?

if button folded, you can go allin here because his effective stack is much less than 10 bb

if button called, I'd still go allin consdiering there's 400 to steal on the pot and I have decent hand

if button raised, I'm still calling considering 2.3:1 pot odds

vs the shortstack, this would be the easiest call ever.

of course, I always like to hear what others are thinking in this situation.
