IMO, projection TVs suck. Unless you're sitting right in front of them the picture is a haze.

Projection TVs are a thing of the past, my good man.

typical awful 2+2 responses for an hdtv thread here. try the archives or avsforum.

projectors r only great for dark LARGE rooms, like in a basement, and if ur gonna get that small of a progector (anything under 80 inches) then just get an HDTV. I bought a 72in HDTV and a flat screen plasma, both r GREAT! Look into one of those

attention, morons: most modern hdtv sets are projection. lcd = REAR PROJECTION lcd. dlp = READ PROJECTION dlp. big-screen crt = REAR PROJECTION crt. the only sets that aren't projection are flat panels or direct-view crts, and both of those have considerable drawbacks (NOT COUNTING financial) for lots of people. when somebody says 'projection' it doesn't necessarily imply FRONT projection.

I have the 50" Grand Wega. It's awesome. The picture is good, though like any LCD screen, the viewing angle isn't 180 degrees. However, I watch it from about 160 degrees when I'm in the kitchen a lot, and it's perfectly fine. Combined with a good sound system, I'd rather watch a movie on it than in the theatre /images/graemlins/smile.gif.

So, given your username, do you know why Ryan Adams sucks so much now?

And (most of) the responses in this thread are horrible. Head on over to avsforum.com. Last time I was over there, they were big fans of the Sony LCD rear projectors. You'll almost certainly be happy with the purchase.

I think drugs and alcohol - WT was great music, but ever since Ryan became a star fucker he's just been a wanker too...

Heartbreaker was incredible, of course, but that was pre wanker days...
