getting a new lcd monitor, vga vs dvi outs

ive done some googling and the general consensus is that lcd monitors work better with dvi out, but are "not all that different" than with vga.

anyone used their lcd monitor with vga and with dvi? was the difference noticable enough to be worth getting a new video card for? i like my current card but given that i've forked over for an expensive new monitor, getting a new one might be worth a significant upgrade in performance.

After I got my 2001FP I used it for a couple days on VGA, while waiting for my new card. I don't think it made that much of a difference, not enough to warrant getting a new card just for DVI out.

And I think the lack of responses is because the post is too on-topic.
