How does Paradise 0.25/0.5 compare with Party 0.5/1?

I'm finished with a bonus on Paradise fairly soon and going for some bonuses on Party skins after I'm done. But since I'm playing 0.25/0.5 at paradise that means moving up a level. And that worries me slightly. I have currently won 2BB/100 over ~3.5K hands.

party .5/1 is not "tough" by any standard. As long as you keep trying to improve, you'll make the jump no problem. Paradise .25/.50 is pretty much the same, but for not as much money, IMO

They are fairly comparable. I think the quality of opponents are about the same actually. If you can beat .25/.5 Paradise you should do will at .5/1 Party. I think they might be a little better at Party... but it's close. Nothing to worry about.

I have played exclusively Paradise, and I am interested in opinions too....I have heard that Party is easier to beat.

That's good to hear /images/graemlins/smile.gif

And I probably have another 1000-1500 hands on paradise before I have cleared the bonus, so that gives me some more practice before moving on.

FWIW: Paradise .5/1 is not much harder than .25/.5.

I've been there before. That's actually the level I started at. I was up some 120BB after my first 2500-3000 hands at that level (probably had a good upswing) and then I hit a REALLY bad downswing and over the next 500 hands I was suddenly down on some 65BB below below break even. So I decided to regroup and rebuild on a lower level.

The games are very similar but u must be prepared mentally for the larger swings you will encounter, if u can handle that aspect u should be fine.

I've spent a little time at paradise 50 cent during a whoring 8-table session. I would guess that the 25 cent tables are similar to the 50 cent tables. In both cases, each are very fishy. Party just edges paradise in the 'more fishyness' category.

I'm not sure, but I -think- the rake will cut into your BB/100 a little over twice as much. It would be nice if someone who plays at those sites checks my numbers, but I think Party .5/1 you pay about 2.5-2.75 BB/100 and Paradise .25/.5 you pay about 1.25-1.5 BB/100.

Hmmm... I don't like the sound of that.

I played 5,145 hands at Paradise .25/.50 and had raked 67.40 from me. I was making 5.33/100 BB. 67.40 is 134.80 BB =~ 2.6 BB/100 hands.

I've played 6,776 hands at Party .50/1 and have had $183 raked from me. I'm currently losing .94 BB/100 on Party (but am winning sans rake). $183 is 183BB, or ~2.7 BB/100.

It's not that much different comparatively.

I checked my own stats for Paradise now and I see that I've been raked 111BB on 3.5K hands which gives 3.17BB/100.

I guess if I was winning on Party my rake would be higher...

Alright, maybe it's not too different between these sites. When I looked at the Paradise rake structure for .25/.5 I estimated that it was similar to the Stars rake structure for .25/.5 (which I actually have data on).

How many BB/100 would that be?

Paradise .25-.5 is defenitely easier. Wow - I didn't realize that until today. I deposited $100 into Paradise about a month ago and started playing .5-$1; treaded water for a while, clawed my way up to $150. After reading some bankroll stuff here and realizing I didn't have enough for .5-1, I just started playing .25-.5. Wow - those players SUCK; I'm glad I made the move down in limits. In my limited experience, there isn't much difference between .5-1 and 1-2, however. .5-1 seems to be the first level at which people at least have 1/2 clue as to what they're doing.
