Growing pains

I finally won enough at the $5.50's to build a 30 buy-in bankroll for the $11's. I thought I would be ready to start out with a losing streak, but I guess I wasn't. I wouldn't have thought twice about 4 OTM in a row before, but now that has me questioning my play.

Don't get me wrong: I read Irieguy's post -- and many others like it -- and I know this isn't "running bad." Just questioning a few decisions... like this one:

PUSH! Because u have a semi-premium hand, and you are the short stack /w 7x BB. Also, u play one at a time? Try multi-ing the $5+.50 and throw in a $10+1. If u play at stars u could try dabbling in the turbos.

If you feel uncomfortable, there's no shame in getting yourself a bigger roll before moving up.

It could be that you are the kind of person who needs a 20 buyin comfort zone so you can completely ignore the worries of busting out.

I pushed, and didn't think it was close -- just wanted to make sure I hadn't lost my mind.

Maybe you're right -- but I'm going to have to move up sometime. Maybe having a little more in my PokerStars account would help if I started out losing the next time, but I don't think that's it, at least not at this level.

I just don't like losing, especially if it's because or stupid play or getting outplayed because I moved up a level. I didn't think this was the case on this hand and didn't think I should be worrying about it, but I was. And I think that lead to some mistakes I made in some following tournaments.

I kept playing and managed to win one. I'm still a little behind overall, but I don't feel quite as bad about losing my first 4 by finding a way to put all my chips in the middle with AQ, QQ, KK and AA when I was behind in the hand.

2) Just figure out what number is very comfortable at the 5s, and go back when you fall behind that line. For instance, $205? $105?
