Fantasy Baseball Leagues - The Official Roto Announcement

I will be running two leagues that are primarily catered to 2+2'ers

League one is 5x5 16 team 5 man keeper
League two is 16 team 5x5 single season

what input I need is what everyone wants to buyin for. My current suggestion is $50 for league one and $30 for league two. Anyway, send me pms and I'll get league info sent out.

One follow up note. I know James is still planning a league as well, that will be head-to-head. So if you want a roto league, not head-to-head, go with Bugstud.

these are "standard" yahoo drafts, serpentine, no auction sorry...if you know of any auction drafts lemme know, draft times are in one of my other posts in the thread

6 bench spots, 2 dl spots

was going to make it crazier but with 16 teams that's inadvisable

I played in my first roto-league in H.S. in 1988 or so.
This would make it pre-internet coverage of course.
My friend and I spent several hours a few times a year manually entering a bunch of numbers from the Sporting News to publish the standings for everyone (I think there were 8 of us...it was national League only).


As I recall, I finished 7th out of the 8.
My best friend called his team "The Joanie Loves ChaChi's" and he finished 2nd.
Another good friend of mine named his team "The Bangkok Trojans" and he finished 1st.
He sent us all Trojan brand condoms via the regular mail to taunt us as he was running away with the whole thing (especially taunting for some of us who were too geeky to actually have occasion to put the condoms to appropriate use).

Actually...the Bangkok Trojans guy might be interested in joining if we need more players.


Oh the memories.

I would really like to do well in one of these things someday....but I am always WAY out of the loop on who's been traded to what team and who the starting 3rd baseman for Milwaukee is going to be...etc etc.

Yeah, my first fantasy anything was the 2+2 league for NFL this past season. I did awesome. I think I got 2nd to last.

Ditto and ditto. Plenty of time, I'd much rather see a weeknight draft a little later toward the beginning of the season, to avoid injuries et al.

5 keepers, yahoo live draft

If enough post to move the league draft back, I'll do it. I think a sunday is probably best though, because not many people are going to work sundays. Try to fit a draft in on a weeknight were some people work until 6-7 pm on the west coast for people on the east coast will be difficult.

I'm going through sending the pms from the posts now, so I should have an accurate invited total in a couple minutes.

Make sure you're on the Free fantasy baseball page, and not the Fantasy Baseball Plus. That's a common error to make.

ok, the time for the keeper has been changed to avoid concurrance with the single season and some concerns from current memebers about other commitments.

The new time is Sat MArch 12th at 8pm central. There are zero times later than 10am on the sunday

Hey all - just so you know, it looks like I'm not going to be able to coordinate the draft times as I've been ultra busy and will being going on vacation pretty soon. I'd still like to participate, but won't be able to be the commissioner.

We'll keep 5, so if we get 16 there will be 80 players kept. I we have less I plan on moving it around to keep it kinda close to that number. It allows for some flexibility and effort into making drafting, trade and keeper decisions.

We only need a couple more fellas, don't make me bust out the ringers. And don't be like TSC, claim you wanna play and then drop off the face of the earth.

I play (either Keeper or single season), I am not sure I will make it to the live draft though, since I am sitting currently in Kabul. I'm 11.5 hours later, so moving back the live draft to 10 ET would give me a decent chance, since I start working at 8 a.m. If that's too late I will probably spend the first hours on autopick.

I should be an easy beat because of the autopick and total lack of preparation this season.
